The place: LaVell Edwards stadium
The quest: To win bragging rites for the next year
A rivalry with the power to halt friendships, divide families, and cause long lasting mood swings in some.
{For the record, I still love all of my U of U friends. Is the feeling mutual today?}
There was a dash of red in the sea of blue.
The Cougars showed up in jerseys that were reminiscent of their 1984 National Championship colors.
The Utes had hate and blood in their eyes.
After tailgating, we headed to our seats. The same seats my dad has had forever. Blue runs in his veins.
BYU is where Jeff and I began.
I love Y mountain.
Jeff.
A Cougar. Then a Ute.
{Repented.}
Now, forever a Cougar.
Yet another thing to add to my gratitude list this year.

You should have seen the parking lot at Provo High. Ute fans took it over as their headquarters. Barbecues, footballs being thrown, balloons, flags and red everywhere.
So glad to see the Cougs won.
We listened to the game on KSL somewhere near Moriarty, NM. Couldn't believe the signal lasted that far! It was so great to see you guys! :)
Go Cougs!!
We watched the game in "Mixed Company" with my side of the Family -- Can you say, "Contentious?" ;)
Needless to say, one particular boy in our family WAS NOT HAPPY!! There were tears. There was banging of fists on the table. There was hitting walls with rubber toy swords. There was slamming doors. There was demanding/pleading we drive back home to Farmington RIGHT THEN (to get away from the BYU fans.) There was a "Mental Health intervention" required! His biggest fear was Dallas, Kennedy, Jared, Kat, etc. at school on Monday!! :) Hey, if he "talks the talk," he's gotta be prepared to "eat crow" from time to time, right?!?
