This is my nephew Jesse. He is one of the most lovable 16 year olds out there. EVERYONE loves Jesse. He's funny, sweet, mellow, and well, look at that handsome face. He also loves babies. Shaw gets a healthy dose of affection when Jesse Bear is around.
Tomorrow this guy goes in for surgery. Major surgery. In the form of getting a kidney transplant. Yeah, major surgery. We've all known for a long time that it would probably come down to this. He was born with only one semi-functioning kidney. As his body has grown and matured, his kidney hasn't been able to keep up.
He's been going to dialysis for the past 6 months. He thinks it's kinda funny that he's been hangin' out with all the old people there.
When asked if he's nervous about getting his new kidney (from his mom's sister) he says, "No, I'm just excited to feel good". It's been hard to see him so sick. It will be good to watch him get healthy again and get a little meat on those bones.
Please keep him in your prayers tomorrow. He's been through so much these past several years.
We love you, Jesse Bear!

We will be praying for him.
I wish him the best. He looks like such a good kid, and how great that he has such a loving family that one of them would give up a kidney for him. We will pray for him, even if we don't know him.
Your mom called about Jesse's surgery. We hope that all goes well for both of them as they recover. Having been through it in our family makes us very tender-hearted. I cried the first time (and several times subsequently) that I walked into the dialysis center. Our prayers are with them. Thanks for the post--Jesse has grown into such a handsome young man!
P.S. We had the maple syrup this morning. I had to go to the store in my pj's and ski hat to get more maple flavoring as no one will settle for anything less on their pancakes! Liquid gold, indeed!!
Jesse will be in our prayers for sure.
Oh, I hope everything went well!
I love the V-Day stuff Jeff got you. Kudos to him!
How did things go for the big, brave Jesse? I hope and pray all is well.
